Sr. Accountant
Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in Seguin, Texas. The role is integral to our operations, with a focus on providing accounting support across various areas of the business. You will be responsible for assisting in month-end closing processes, account reconciliations, and fixed assets management, among other duties. Responsibilities: • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly. • Undertake account reconciliations routinely to ascertain the correctness of all accounting entries. • Provide support in managing fixed assets and keeping track of their depreciation. • Contribute to internal and external audits by preparing necessary documents and facilitating the audit process. • Participate in special projects, applying general accounting principles to ensure financial accuracy. • Prepare monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, as well as account analysis. • Assist with bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of bank balances and transactions. • Review and improve current Accounting Policies & Procedures in collaboration with the Assistant Controller. • Use research tools to stay updated on new accounting standards and implement additional processes to align financials with generally accepted accounting principles. • Participate in the management of sales tax, property tax, and franchise tax. • Provide variance and profitability analysis as directed by management. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations • Demonstrable experience in General Ledger management and Journal Entries • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel • Experience in Month End Close procedures • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP • Prior experience in Fixed Asset Accounting and Lease Accounting • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • CPA certification is preferred • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
