Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to lead our staff level accounting team in the construction/contractor industry located just a drive to Southern Portland area. As a Senior Accountant, your main role will be to offer specialized accounting support, assist with the preparation of diverse financial statements, and contribute to job costing and financial report creation. Mentorship and leadership a plus. Responsibilities: • Utilize advanced knowledge in accounting practices, principles, and interrelationships to provide specialized or general calculations and analysis support for management and external agencies. • Aid in the monthly close process and assist in generating various financial and statistical reports for management meetings. • Contribute to job cost analysis and the preparation of monthly work-in-process schedules. • Support the monthly reconcilement of company inventories, understanding related inventory systems and coordinating with other company personnel as necessary. • Conduct periodic reconciliation of selected general ledger accounts, independently researching and resolving routine exceptions. • Assist in the monthly update and maintenance of the fixed assets sub-ledger. • Participate in the creation and execution of new or revised accounting systems. • Provide technical advice and services to other staff members dealing with problems, complex issues, or special projects. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the construction/contractor industry. • Proficiency in account reconciliation is a must. • Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation is required. • Experience in performing bank reconciliations is necessary. • Comprehensive knowledge of the general ledger system is expected. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. • Demonstrated experience in conducting month-end close processes is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
