Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the retail clothing and accessories industry, located in North Charleston, South Carolina. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be playing a crucial role in our finance team where your responsibilities will entail a range of accounting duties, working closely with the VP of Accounting, and providing support to Operations/Distribution Center. Responsibilities: • Involve in financial reporting on a monthly basis and during the end of the fiscal year along with participation in the annual external audit. • Maintain and manage financial records that include balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entry support, and providing appropriate details for ad hoc analysis. • Collaborate actively with Operations/Distribution Center, particularly in the preparation and presentation of inventory analytics. • Prepare monthly performance reports comparing budget to actual expenses. • Assist in projecting cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting. • Handle additional responsibilities as and when required. • Utilize skills in General Ledger and QuickBooks for various accounting tasks. Requirements • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in the retail industry. • Proficient in General Ledger and QuickBooks. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on detail. • Capable of managing large amounts of data. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance in the retail sector. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Proactive in identifying problems and implementing effective solutions. • Familiar with financial software and Microsoft Excel. • Able to work independently as well as part of a team. • A certification such as CPA is preferred.
