Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant located in FULTON, New York. You will be a key figure in executing the monthly general ledger close process, preparing complex accounting journal entries, and managing the accounting for capital projects. You will also be expected to partner with the Accounting/Finance Leaders to improve and implement accounting processes. Responsibilities: • Execute the monthly general ledger close process and ensure that all financial reports are accurate and timely in accordance with GAAP. • Prepare complex accounting journal entries and collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data for the month-end close. • Assist in the documentation of accounting processes and procedures. • Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data. • Prepare supporting documents and perform tasks related to the external audit. • Manage the accounting for capital projects; evaluate capital expenditures and summarize return on investment. • Partner with the Accounting/Finance Leaders to improve and implement accounting processes. • Compile, analyze and distribute routine and ad hoc financial reports. • Assist with the preparation of financial data and analysis for periodic in-depth business unit reviews. • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. • Awareness of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 Requirements • Proven experience in Account Reconciliation is a must. • Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required. • Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations. • Must have experience in managing and maintaining General Ledger. • Capability to prepare Journal Entries accurately and timely. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. • Experience in Month End Close processes is required. • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is desirable. • Experience with the Oracle Financial system is a plus. • Knowledge of SAP software will be considered an advantage.
