Summary:
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dynamic Senior Analyst, Vendor Incentives to support their Vendor Incentives team based in the US and India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analyzing contractual incentive programs for Vendors or other key constituents . This role involves ensuring accurate and timely recording and associated analysis of periodic activities as well as financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting principles and company policies. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that the candidate will work 3 days a week in our offices in Raleigh, North Carolina.
This position is HYBRID and requires in office participation at our North Hills/Raleigh HQ location 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Prepare vendor incentive income calculations, analysis and period end journal entries to ensure the general ledger accurately reflects income recognition and vendor receivables
Perform analytical reviews and interpretation of financial data and provide undestandable explanations to non-financial business partners
Prepare and maintain schedules and supporting documentation needed for management, internal/external reporting
Prepare and monitor vendor purchases to determine status of reaching volume thresholds as required in contracts
Periodically review contracts to ensure most recent terms are being used in calculations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Merchant, AP, Finance, Operations, IT
Assist in period, quarter, and year-end close processes/audits
Assist with resolving vendor questions/disputes
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial controls
Ad hoc projects, as necessary
Skills:
Solid understanding of US GAAP and other accounting principles
Advanced Microsoft office suite skills
Team player who also works well independently
Strong analytical, organizational, conflict solving and negotiation skills.
Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments, vendors, and internal/external customers
Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle Cloud ERP, ReconNet, Blackline, and/or AS400
Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations with respect to incentive calculations
Must be able to communicate effectively in both an oral and written manner
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business (Master's degree preferred)
5+ years experience ideally analyzing and recording incentives from key constituents, ideally Vendors. Strong experience dealing directly with Vendors and/or Procurement will also be considered.
