The location in Bennettsville, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Sr. Accounting Clerk. This job is full-time permanent.

 

Domtar is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk to join our team at the Marlboro Mill in Bennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper products are produced daily.  The Senior Accounting Clerk position is in Marlboro Mill Finance Department and reports directly to the Marlboro Mill Controller. 

 

Job Responsibilities include

Processing vendor invoices including verifying and obtaining payment approval, matching purchase orders, receiving reports and addressing exceptions. Performing detailed work for preliminary budget preparation. Ensuring compliance with taxation legislation Preparing billings and supporting schedules. Generating and maintaining revising customized reports and/or spreadsheets relating to vendor payments, general ledger transactions, purchase orders, utility accounts and leases.  Providing general office duties such as responding to telephone inquiries and preparing information summaries.  Performing reconciliation on a wide variety of financial data. Supporting monthend closing process.

Possess ability and track-record of challenging reported figures/data, asking questions and probing others to ensure that the right answers are obtained. Good communicator at all levels of organization, in both written and verbal formats. Excellent time management and organization skills to meet strict deadlines. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to change in a dynamic environment. Self-sufficient, proactive, results driven and detail-oriented mindset. Analytical approach to solving problems and critical thinking. Willingness to challenge the status quo and seek opportunities to continuously improve processes. Ability to work overtime during critical times of month-end close, project delivery, etc.

 

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

 

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment preferred. General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes. Strong skills in problem solving and critical thinking. Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Organize, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines. Understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Strong command of Microsoft Office Excel - must be skilled in spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, calculate and create tables. Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with corporate & mill employees. Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired, SAP knowledge and experience is a plus.
