SENIOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - SEAT STRUCTURES
SOUTHFIELD, MI – WORLD HEADQUARTERS
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
• Developing manufacturing processes and related equipment for new seating structures. Processes will primarily include automation, welding, assembly, and riveting.
• Cost estimation – new / modified business quoting.
• Launching of new equipment for products.
• Automation and industrialization planning.
• Develop and maintain budgets and timelines.
• Prepare RFQs (requests for quotation), evaluate responses, provide recommendations.
• Work with Quality and Plant engineers to develop PFMEA, work instructions, and control plans.
• Expected to be able to concept and define processes, while working with and managing integrators.
• Willingness and ability to travel as development and launch schedules dictate.
Your Qualifications:
• BS Degree in a related field. Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.
• Development of assembly processes for metal structure products.
• Ability to work with 3D CAD. Need not be proficient in creation, but able to utilize and navigate with viewing software.
• Basic AutoCAD abilities for reviewing plant and equipment layouts.
• Project management.
• Engineering / process change control.
• Understanding GD&T and able to read print is must.
• Experience with Control Plans, PFMEA’s, Inspection Sheets, and floor documentation
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Use broad depth of knowledge and expertise and given a wide degree of creativity and latitude under minimal supervision to accomplish goals.
Bonus If You Have:
• Experience in MIG/MAG Welding, RSW Welding, Riveting, Robotics, or High-Speed Automation.
• Experience in seating structures or mechanisms.
• Experience in manufacturing control systems.
• GD&T proficiency, basic metrology, and parts inspection.
• APQP
• Experience with Control Plans, PFMEA’s, Inspection Sheets, and floor documentation.
