Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to the mechanical design, test and analysis of fans and compressors within the Engine Systems and Component Analysis (ESCA) organization of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies’ Engines and Power Systems Engineering. Will be responsible for engineering tasks associated with the analytical design, development, production and field support activities for blades, vanes, disks, and impellers. Responsible for supporting currently fielded products, assisting to define product improvements and helping to conceive new and innovative concepts to develop fans, axial rotors and impellers. Mechanical design and analysis efforts will focus on continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practices, innovative thinking and comparative benchmarking to achieve state-of-the-art technology that will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities with Compressor Blades, Vanes, Disks\nand Impellers
- Execute mechanical design\nand analysis – including vibration, deflection, fatigue crack growth, burst,\nHCF, LCF, thermal and stack analysis – and generate accompanying documentation\ncapturing findings and results
- Support mechanical testing of components and engine modules in various\nlifecycle stages (rig, development, production) and perform data\nreduction/analysis on test data
- Develop and present\nengineering artifacts during structured design reviews
- Interpret engineering\ndrawings via geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Support product certification and qualification
- Contribute to technical\nmentoring, process/tool improvement and knowledge capture
