We are seeking an experienced Senior Surface Warfare Training and Policy SME to support the Navy's Surface Warfare Schools Command in the execution of their mission to "ready sea bound warriors to serve on surface combatants as officers, enlisted engineers, and enlisted navigation professionals in order to fulfill the Navy's mission to maintain global maritime superiority." As a Senior Surface Warfare Training and Policy SME, you will play a crucial role in evaluating surface warfare training and professional development information provided by analytic tools to define the training requirements, predict training outcomes, and recommend training solutions and policy changes necessary to ensure surface warfighting proficiency. You will  be responsible for coordinating with SWSC Directorate Leadership to ensure an effective flow of communication and exchange of academic information in support of enhancing analytic capabilities of the SEXTANT solution by providing direction and guidance on behalf of SWSC Leadership. You will also coordinate and collaborate with other Navy Program offices interested in Information sharing efforts that SWSC authorizes. Responsibilities

 

Utilize the SEXTANT analytic tool to inform responses to higher authority tasking and prepare Flag Officer level briefing material, policy recommendations in alignment with organization priorities and official response documents. Coordinate with FTI team members to ensure the effective development of analytic tools to support the delivery of solutions.Coordinate with SWSC instructors and academic leads to facilitate the conduct of policy research and collaborate with Navy Training leadership on messaging and policy.Collaborate with data scientists in creation of predictive models. Partner with software developers to create and modify visualizations and dashboard views.Interpret qualitative/quantitative data to determine impacts on Navy Training and Policy.Develop briefs, documentation, and presentations to inform Navy Training leadership decisions. Education/Qualifications

Required:

U.S. Dept. of Defense active SECRET clearance.Ability to work 100% on-site at the Surface Warfare Schools Command in Newport, RI.12+ years of experience in Navy Training, Navy Navigation, Navy Program Oversight and Execution, and/or Navy Command Leadership roles.Experience preparing and presenting senior leadership briefings and papers.Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to create high level briefs with imbedded graphics and charts Proficient using MS Power Point.Proficient with MS Excel.Proficient with SharePoint Online.

Preferred:

Former Senior Naval Officer experienced with an understanding of US Navy training processes and policy impacts.
