Key Objectives:

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of AI engineers, data scientists, and product developers to create innovative tools and products that drive LLM development and deployment. This role provides a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in both front-end and back-end development, driving the integration of advanced AI solutions into our systems. You will be instrumental in designing scalable architectures for new AI products, implementing best practices for data management, and ensuring the operations surrounding LLM development are seamless. By doing so, you’ll ensure Chubb’s AI products have a strong and resilient LLM backbone.


Major Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a team of AI engineers to design, build, and enhance front-end tooling/products for LLM data collection using Angular and similar frameworks, ensuring user-friendly interfaces that facilitate effective sample curation. Focus on backend data engineering tasks that involve curating, developing, and processing data samples essential for LLM training processes, including pre-training, supervised fine-tuning (SFT), and preference alignment. Implement robust backend services and workflows that efficiently manage the collection and processing of LLM training data, ensuring high quality and scalability. Oversee application deployment tasks utilizing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Machine Learning, and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, ensuring smooth integration and deployment of AI solutions. Proficient use of Docker for containerization to enhance deployment workflows across environments. Maintain high-quality code that adheres to business objectives, software quality standards, and development guidelines while actively participating in code reviews and team discussions. Work on a fast paced, high impact team— to do so effectively, you must be strongly able to adapt to shifting priorities and challenges while maintaining focus on delivering results within established deadlines.

Must have:

5+ years of experience in full-stack engineering with a significant focus on AI and/or Machine Learning Engineering, particularly related to LLMs.Proven expertise in Angular or similar front-end frameworks, with a strong foundation in back-end development, particularly in data engineering (structured and unstructured sources).Experience in building AI products and systems (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation systems, agentic products, etc.) and familiarity with their data requirements.Knowledge of and experience with developing data sets for pre-training, instruction tuning, and preference alignment for LLMsExperience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffsSolid experience with deployment processes in Azure environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure ML, coupled with knowledge of CI/CD practices using Jenkins. High proficiency in Docker for containerization to streamline deployable applications and environments.Strong Python programming skills for backend development, complemented by a software engineering mindset focused on efficient data processing.Multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). This includes crisply talking about technical solutions while being able to collaborate with business architects effectively.

Experience in P&C insurance is a plus.Understanding the development lifecycle for LLMsHands-on LLM deployment experience
