Job Description

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) Digital Distribution, markets and sells movies and TV shows on digital platforms, including VOD and EST. 

The Senior Analyst of customer analytics is a key member of the team dedicated to helping UPHE’s executives, customers and other stakeholders understand the digital market. This person will gather, structure and analyze data from customers, data suppliers and research vendors to answer the business questions facing the digital distribution team. In addition, they will also support the physical distribution team with a few regular reports and occasional ad hoc data requests. This person must have an extremely analytical mindset and be capable of harnessing data to inform business decisions. Projects will focus on areas such as distribution strategy, Universal’s performance relative to its peers, market trends and consumer behavior. This role reports to the Director of Customer & Market Analytics. 

Responsibilities:

Work with teams across Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (sales, product management, finance, business development and marketing) to understand the business through data-driven analyses Communicate effectively with retail partners to give them a deeper understanding of industry trends and help them successfully position our titles Process data, and conduct analyses using Excel, Power BI dashboards, etc.Create operational reports on a regular basis to present the team with market trends and competitive performance Present senior management with results from a wide variety of market trends facing the film industry and specifically the home entertainment market 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a data-oriented role Bachelor’s degree in business or a related quantitative field Demonstrated interest in the media/entertainment/technology industries through work experience, coursework, or extra-curricular activities High proficiency in Excel and other quantitative analysis tools such as Power BI.

Passion for learning about the growing film and TV VOD/EST business Highly analytical mindset with proven quantitative reasoning skills Experience with data retrieval, cleaning and analysis to identify trends/patterns, and discern actionable business insightsAble to distill and effectively communicate complex information clearly and concisely, tailoring reports to fit audience needs Familiarity with creating dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, etc., preferredCollaborative but self-motivated team member Curiosity and willingness to share a point of view in team meetings 

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
