As part of Technology Operations, our Senior Analysts work with our Engineers, data center provider, and cloud provider to develop and implement fast and consistent processes in delivering new services and supporting changes to existing services. This position requires communication skills, collaboration, a natural orientation to process analysis and optimization, and experience with data analysis and project management. **What you will do – Essential Responsibilities** + Develop, refine, and maintain documentation that captures and distributes the processes and policies for executing safe, effective operations in CarMax data centers. + Recognize gaps in operations and present solutions to standardize operations across the data centers. + Identify, track, and resolve emerging issues, escalating concerns as needed. + Build and support cross-functional relationships with internal partners and external vendors to drive effective communication channels. + Support month, quarter, and year end requirements to ensure appropriate financial tracking and reporting. + Generate metrics highlighting performance and trends within the data center, identifying any infrastructure gaps or potential cost savings. **Purpose of the role** As CarMax continues to grow and transform, collaboration between our engineering teams, Public Cloud, and Data Center providers is vital to ensure that services are delivered or changed quickly, efficiently, and reliably. The Sr. Analyst, Data Center Operations, facilitates the interaction between these groups, creates and communicates processes, identifies, and engages key resources, and helps drive successful execution within appropriate timelines. Data Center and Public Cloud costs are tracked, reported, and analyzed, helping to ensure that we are efficient in our technology investments. **Qualifications and Requirements** + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Technology field or equivalent experience + 5+ years’ experience working as a Data Center Analyst (or similar role) + General understanding of the infrastructure build and change process for servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cabling, and access control + Strong attention to detail, problem investigation, and diagnostic skills + Experience handling project management responsibilities (prioritization, planning, scheduling, driving execution, and status reporting) + Experience in financial analysis and budgeting + Experience working independently, prioritizing, and managing one's time, and coordinating multiple initiatives at once + Strong communication, diligent follow-up, problem solving, and interpersonal skills + Familiar with DCIM software and capacity planning + Participate in On-Call rotation as required Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center or Dallas Technology Hub in Plano, TX and have a Hybrid work arrangement. **About CarMax** CarMax disrupted the auto industry by delivering the honest, transparent and high-integrity experience customers want and deserve.
