Sr. Analyst, Employee Relations

Job Summary
The Sr Analyst Employee Relations handles managerial and analytical support for the Employee Relations (“ER”) team, coordinating requests with internal and external business partners. Oversees all Employee Relations systems, including case management tracking, case logs, SharePoint sites, databases, and shared drives; this includes managing the compliance tier ethics investigations with CSX business partners. Coordinates with the Law department for all reporting, litigation, and compliance requests on behalf of Employee Relations. Responsible for managing and updating all existing scorecards and reporting including ad hoc reporting to Human Resources, Internal Audit and Compliance, the Law Department, and senior leadership. Leading new reporting initiatives and improvements. Researching discipline and employee relations matters for internal and external business partners. Ensuring data integrity with CSX Affirmative Action Plans and external reporting. Providing investigation support with the assistance of other Employee Relations team members.


Primary Activities and Responsibilities

ER case management, case logs, SharePoint, databases, and shared drives systems administrator responsible for coordination for all users including training, troubleshooting, coordination with technology and vendors with all system issues, developments and testing, and related data reporting; ensuring data integrity within all systems Managing all compliance tier ethics investigations including outreach to business partners, maintaining case notes, updating system data, and reporting Researching and processing all legal hold and collection notice requests and litigation records requests for legal claims and proceedings Researching and processing discipline or ER data requests for internal and external business partners Managing and updating all existing scorecards and reporting In coordination with CSX vendors and business partners, overseeing data integrity of CSX’s Affirmative Action Plans and external reporting such as EEO-1 and Vets-100 and multiple state and local compliance reports. Investigation support such as gathering internal documents and reports or social media research Develop and facilitate classroom and other methods of training for all levels of the organization to mitigate organizational risk, promote CSX Core Values, and ethics policies, and improve managerial skills and leadership. Actively creating positive relationships with internal team members, business partners, and vendors. Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence from internal and external business partners. Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree 2 or more years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, employment law, or investigations

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree/2-year Degree 4 or more years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, employment law or investigations

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate Degree 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, employment law or investigations Professional in Human Resources (“PHR”) Senior Professional in Human Resources (“SPHR”)

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management and labor relations Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use Direct Access software Knowledge of practices to ensure data integrity Knowledge of Affirmative Action and the skills to support federal compliance activities such as audits and responses and monitoring activities Knowledge of Affirmative Action and Human Resources compliance reports Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and the compliance requirements of those laws Knowledge of Labor Relations processes including a basic understanding of collective bargaining agreements Understanding the business of a railroad Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enhance the quality of written responses regarding investigations to all levels of management, the EEOC, OFCCP, DOL, FEPA agencies Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive levels within the company Ability to develop and facilitate classroom and other methods of training. Autonomy in decision-making and recommendations when working with business partners and colleagues Knowledge of HR/legal compliance standards and processes Ability to make day-to-day decisions with moderate supervision
