Your Role at Baxter:

The Sr. Analyst, Global Business Development will support Baxter’s Investor Relations team which includes the Investor Relations and Market Intelligence & Competitive Intelligence functions.

The MICI group is a fast-paced and high impact group, focused on top priority initiatives to increase the company’s growth/profitability across our global portfolio. We work directly with senior leaders of our company. businesses and regions to develop long- and short- term strategies to transform Baxter's future. The team is a high exposure/strategic team, with critical responsibilities/broad coverage of Baxter peer/competitor financial performance, strategic directions, and growth trajectories

The IR function is focused on conveying a compelling investment story to current and prospective investors via quarterly earnings calls, industry conference presentations and Baxter’s bi-annual Investor Conference. This includes the creation of external materials (e.g., presentation, press releases, financial schedules), Q&A prep ahead of external events, and drafting of the earnings call script.  The group monitors the external environment to understand investor sentiment of Baxter, assess competitive landscape, analyze potential impact to Baxter from micro- & macro-economic factors, and benchmark best practices.  Additionally, the group is focused on educating and preparing senior management for external engagements by analyzing Baxter’s financial and operational performance, quantifying risks and opportunities, preparing responses to anticipated investor questions and more.

What You’ll be Doing:

Assess competitor companies' financial performance, critical initiatives and growth directions through quarterly earnings, investor meetings and public announcements of M&A transactions, product launches, or other newsAnalyze hospital performance and trends to understand underlying demand dynamics, financial positions that may decide hospital capital and pharmacy budgetsLead strategic reviews to identify market trends and how the broader healthcare ecosystem is responding to these trendsSynthesize major themes from broad data collection to determine new perspectives and deliver new insightsCollaborate with the broader Portfolio Strategy team function in evaluating trends, supporting strategic projects, and defining the commercial opportunity, strategic rationale, and risksBuild analytics and communications related to external environment, including peer monitoring and Baxter external coverage.Understand Baxter’s performance, strategy, and financial outlook (forward-looking projections).Continuously track sell side analyst estimates and expectations regarding Baxter’s financial and operational performance. Update consensus (average of analyst estimates) for key financial metrics.Prepare financial supporting materials to CEO, CFO, and IRO during quarterly earnings process.Provide supporting materials and Q&A prep to CEO, CFO, business unit presidents and Investor Relations team for Analyst/Investor meetings, Annual Shareholder Meeting, etc.Assist with the preparation of materials and presentations for sell side investor meetings and conferences and Baxter’s bi-annual investor conference.Prepare competitive analysis, shareholder returns, and stock performance materials for quarterly presentation to the Board of Directors.Benchmark competitor information and provide updates / recommendations to management.Perform special projects with heavy financial and competitor analysis; make recommendations based on research.Support various strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions / capital allocation strategy.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree or country equivalent required; Finance, Economics, or Accounting degree preferred2+ years of communicating analytical information to executive team members3+ years of Financial Analyst, Data Analyst, Insights Analyst, Pricing Analyst, Compensation Analyst, or similar experienceMedTech and/or healthcare products industry experience required

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 to $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
