Senior Analyst Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry

Pay:  $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

 

Job Description:

· Routine and complex sample preparation

· Simple instrument maintenance on the instrumentation they have been trained on

· Data Entry

· Instrument/analytical problem solving and process improvement

· QA investigations with no assistance

· Working independently and giving insight on problem solving

· Keeps abreast of current and new methods, including TO-17 and TICs.

· Experience with ChemStation

· Statistical analyses on quality control samples to assure compliance

· Able to participate in both external and internal auditing procedures

· Quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks

· Follows safety requirements including the appropriate use of safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats

· IDC sample requirements are met

· Company procedures and policies adhered to

· On-going participation in laboratory skills inventory

· Turnaround times achieved

· Multi-task and prioritize workload

· Performs method validation and data review tasks

· Able to work with direct supervisor to resolve any corrective actions and offer resolutions to issues

 

Required Experience, Education, Certifications:

· 5 years of experience in related area of testing

· Flexibility to deal with different situations and personalities

· Able to assess problems and recommend solutions

· Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related science background

· Positive outlook with a ability to work in a fast paced environment

· Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills

· Ability to adapt to a changing environment

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

· Detail oriented & record keeping skills

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Familiarity with several different types of instrumentation including: GCMS, HPLC, ICP, ICP-MS, etc. Master’s or PhD degree in chemistry or related science background. Familiarity with wide scope of OSHA, NIOSH, or ASTM methodologies and practices. Familiarity with AIHA accreditation practices and ISO 17025.
