Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks Sr. Application Calibration Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth MI 48170.

Responsible for processing vehicle crash data, run simulations, and change airbag algorithms and calibrations to meet NHTSA (National High Traffic Safety Administration) mandate and customer requirements.Discuss results with customers and address any concerns to secure customer sign off.Perform vehicle integration by working with vehicle manufacturers to determine the optimal installation location of the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and peripheral contact sensors of the airbag system.Act as a technical customer window for all airbag peripheral and inertial sensor architecture and design while responding to inquiries.Study and apply adequate algorithms to distinguish and classify all vehicle occupants and maximize occupant protection during an accident.

QualificationsThis position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience as an Application Engineer or other occupation involving Design, Implementation and Validation.Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Development of deterministic and physics based real time algorithms through model-based approach of implementing algorithms (Simulink); (2) Execution of Model in Loop simulations to understand implemented algorithm performance; (3) Execution of Hardware in Loop testing to confirm performance of algorithms in overall system; (4) Embedded system runtime constraints and identification of runtime optimization techniques; and (5) Accelerometer based modal hammer testing and frequency response analysis of mechanical systems.Telecommuting Permitted: Work from home- 1 day per week.
