The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity for a Sr. Application Developer. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams that include business analysts, product owners, designers, other developers, and leaders to discover required technical features translated from business functionality. You will develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and integrations between systems that will require leading the team to write clean, maintainable, and documented code that adheres to our standards and best practices. You will need extensive knowledge of microservice architectures and modern practices that leverage AWS cloud platform services and CI/CD pipelines.

How You'll Make a Difference

Partner with Digital Product and business leaders to discuss the roadmap of prioritized work.Design solutions, both backend and frontend, to meet business needs.Mentor and guide team of developers in the delivery of tech that meets business requirements.Engage in hands-on development work for POCs (proof of concepts) or more difficult assignments.Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration (or higher) in an IT related field preferred, or relevant work experience

Minimum of seven years of experience inJavaSpringRDBMSMessagingMinimum of two years of experience inJavaScript front-end library, with a preference for AngularOAuth2AWS experience preferredDocker experience preferredMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
