Sr. Associate - Core Java/ Spring Boot

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer with 7 to 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Spring Boot and Core Java along with a strong background in Property & Casualty Insurance. This hybrid role requires excellent English language skills and may involve occasional travel. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions that align with our business goals.

Responsibilities

Lead the design development and implementation of software solutions using Spring Boot and Core Java. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle ensuring high-quality code and timely delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements translating them into technical specifications. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Ensure that all software solutions adhere to industry best practices and company standards. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies incorporating them into the development process when applicable. Work closely with the Property & Casualty Insurance team to understand domain-specific requirements and implement effective solutions. Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives to ensure smooth project execution. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all software solutions ensuring easy knowledge transfer and future reference. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that software solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable value. Travel as required to collaborate with remote teams and attend industry conferences or training sessions.

Qualifications

Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a focus on Spring Boot and Core Java. Demonstrate strong domain knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Showcase strong communication skills in English both written and spoken to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Have experience working in a hybrid work model with the flexibility to travel as needed. Display a proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Hold a relevant certification in Spring Boot or Core Java demonstrating expertise in these technologies.

Certifications Required

Spring Professional Certification Oracle Certified Professional Java SE Programmer

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 to $116,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
