Sr. Benefits Analyst, Healthy Wallet - Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Job Description

Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Total Rewards team in support of the company’s Healthy Wallet programs, including qualified and non-qualified U.S. retirement/savings programs. This position is a highly skilled individual contributor who will be responsible for multiple U.S. benefit programs. Primary responsibilities include analyzing and reporting, advising, and educating, consulting, project management, making process improvements, as well as partnering with others on the benefits team for program/project support. Additionally, the position plays a critical role in ensuring our plans and operations align with the plan documents and applicable rules and regulations.

A day in the life...

Manages the Deferred Compensation Plans for Nordstrom employees and Nordstrom Board of DirectorsSupports smooth and effective operation of Nordstrom’s 401(k) Plan including leading the annual audit and non-discrimination testingManages communication, education, and compliance for Nordstrom’s Merchandise Discount ProgramParticipates and sometimes leads key projects and initiatives such as RFPs, fund changes, plan design reviews, recommendations, and correctionsEffectively partners, consults, and collaborates with cross functional teams, including other Benefits Plan Owners, Legal team, ERISA counsel partners, Finance, Treasury, External Reporting and Strategic Sourcing, to accomplish objectivesIs a Subject Matter Expert for Nordstrom’s Healthy Wallet programs and serves as a point of escalation for complex participant questions or issues escalated from vendor partners, Nordstrom HR Business Partners, Nordstrom legal and Nordstrom Employee Contact CenterEnsures programs remain competitive, inclusive, legally compliant and aligned with Nordstrom’s total rewards philosophy and business needsInterprets and administers Healthy Wallet programs in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulationsStays informed about changes in legislation and regulations, attends conferences, seminars and webinars to stay current on retirement plan trends and best practicesEnsures Plan documents and processes are current and accurately reflect plan rules and operationsManages third party vendor relationships to ensure best-in-class delivery of services, including tracking and communication of performance guarantees and service level agreements

You own this if you have...

5+ years of benefits experience3+ years of retirement benefits experienceUnderstanding of ERISA, HIPAA, 409A and other IRS and DOL requirements impacting employee benefit plansExperience with trust accounting, institutional investment operations, non-discrimination testing and form 5500Experience analyzing and interpreting data and creating effective and engaging presentationsExperience working with Workday is preferredStrong ability to manage multiple competing priorities and execute in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively and independently in a remote team environmentEffective collaboration skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organizationStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to and influencing senior leadersAbility to manage sensitive information with a high level of professional discretion and confidentialityIntermediate to advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointBachelor’s degree and/or benefit or human resources certification preferred (CEBS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP or SCP)

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000 - $155,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
