Sr. Benefits Specialist

This position is Hybrid, based at our Corporate Office in Bala Cynwyd, PA.

 

Position Summary:

The Senior Benefits Specialist plays a key role in administering a comprehensive benefits program, partnering closely with the VP. of Benefits and Wellness, Benefits Manager and Benefits Coordinator. This includes but is not limited to assisting with administration of retirement plans, health insurance, life insurance, disability coverage and various projects as assigned. The Sr. Benefits Specialist will also support compliance measures and adherence to state and federal regulations as they relate to benefits.

As a Senior Benefits Specialist, you serve as a subject matter expert company-wide for benefit plans, programs, systems and processes. You possess a strong and in-depth knowledge of health and welfare plans. You will interact with a large employee population, offering top-notch customer service and presentation skills.

This role is responsible for overseeing the Direct Bill Program and ACA data management, conducting monthly audits, and working with the Benefits Manager to ensure accuracy of data. In addition, you are the first line escalation for employee benefit concerns.

 

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

Support the Benefits Manager and serve as the first line of escalation for employee benefits-related concerns Manage monthly ACA data and serve as the project leader for annual ACA reporting and filing Oversee the Direct Bill Program, ensuring compliance and correct premium payments for employees on FMLA/LOA Partnering with the Benefits Coordinator for monthly reconciliations Ensure compliance with laws and regulations with respect to HIPAA Collaborate with relevant teams on long-term disability claims Ownership of life claim process Maintain and update SOPS for assigned benefit processes Provide timely, accurate, and courteous responses to employee inquiries Support the annual open enrollment process Generate standard and ad-hoc benefit reports as required

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience 4+ years of hands-on experience in employer benefits administration Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively In-depth knowledge of HIPAA regulations, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and benefits compliance Experience working with large employee populations (5,000+ employees preferred)
