Sr. BI Engineer, Product Agility Insights
Overview The Product & Agile Enablement team’s mission is to enable product teams to focus on their customers, surrounding them with lean, easy, friction free ways to align strategies, leverage data to make better decisions, and streamline ways of working. This team is primarily focused on three areas of responsibility: 1) Product Team enablement which includes product team formation, training, launch and agile/product coaching to aid in continuous improvement. 2) Product/Agile tooling, metrics, and dashboards; setting lean standards, configurations, and integrations to unlock the potential for automated transparency. 3) Leading and managing product governance which includes executive strategy alignment routines such as quarterly business reviews, product showcases and strategic alignment planning events. The BI Engineer, Product Agility Insights will have a heavy focus on data visualization, defining the data standards for an inter-connected system of transformation-focused work platforms and designing and driving Extract Transformation and Load (ETL) solutions, leading ETL development, and resolving technical issues. Working with an engineering team and product management, this role will enable more efficient and effective decision making to enable ways of working transformation across multiple contexts and various levels of the organization. This individual relies on their deep understanding of the intricacies of enterprise transformation and creating tools for program managers, product managers, and agile coaches across multiple context areas. As we travel the road from project to product mindset; this role will also influence the acquisition, configuration, training, and adoption of new Agile Tools that Product Portfolios and teams require to manage their work, align their objectives and metrics, and understand their flow. Responsibilities Design and author a suite of data visualization dashboards in Power BI and other tools as needed to enable multiple contexts of decision-making and executive-level presentation. Design a suite of data tools and integrations into technology financial practices to understand product total cost of ownership and other relevant transformation topics. Experience in creating technical design and implementing ETL solutions. Excellent team, problem-solving and time management skills. Monitor and ensure all deliverables, scheduled imports and loads are executed and delivered on time with no issues. Operate data remediation plans where data fails to meet required standards. Ensure that data quality is assessed and evaluated as an integral part of new solution developments. Document, publish and maintain processes and related documentation for data standards. Provide guidance to other technical team members on data movement and visualization best practices. Manage and provide a limited On-Call Support/Schedule. Follow Foot Locker SDLC standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building Power BI data visualizations and data pipelines technology for creating and sharing datasets using Spark (or similar) Must have very strong knowledge of SQL and a mathematical background. Experience designing and implementing Finance applications is a plus. Experience designing and implementing delivery metrics like DORA, SPACE or similar is a plus. Knowledge and experience with big data technologies like Spark, Python, Scala. In-depth understanding of Data warehouse, Data Modelling designs concepts. Knowledge of Cloud technology like Azure (preferred), AWS or GCP. Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub etc., a plus. Working in an Agile methodology/environment. Standardizing data ingestion process from a variety of sources Experience working with and implementing data standards. Following standards, policies, and process regarding data quality management. Benefits The annual base salary range is $110,000 -$140,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
