The OpsTech Solutions(OTS) - DataTech is looking for a technically astute analytical and passionate teammate to join our team and deliver on behalf of our customers. This position will be responsible for realizing business value from the use of statistical methods to gather, review, and interpret data to solve real-business problems.
The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and partner with data leaders to drive and deliver business value for OTS across the globe. The candidate will have a primary focus in the driving the success of our programs and cross team initiatives back by AWS technologies like QuickSight and Data Lakes/Data Mesh. This individual will collaborate with their peer team members across the globe in supporting our Data as a Product strategy and Unified Reporting strategy.
The candidate will be responsible for driving customer metrics and partnering with internal and cross-functional teams of BIEs partnering with the central engineering team and business stakeholders and conducting deep dive analyses to solve complex business problems and to build robust/automated BIE solutions. The candidate will also be responsible for driving analytical strategy for their respective function and enable data driven decision making for their teammates and stakeholders.
This position requires positive thought leadership and ownership mentality, statistical knowledge, analytical abilities, and good knowledge of business intelligence solutions. The candidate will also need to be a good stakeholder manager as they may work closely with senior stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving technical skills to meet business needs, possess strong attention to detail and be able to collaborate with customers to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables.
Key job responsibilities
Support OTS data strategy:
• Build data model solutions tailored to customer needs supporting our Tableau to QuickSight Migration and improving our Data as a Product strategy
Develop and manage data:
• Build standardized reporting processes and dashboards
• Automate data pipelines where possible
• Develop, program, manage, and maintain complex statistical datasets
Perform data analysis and problem-solving:
• Define and utilize statistical methods to solve OTS business and industry-specific problems
• Research problems and identify data required to answer specific questions
• Identify trends and inter-relations in data
• Compare insights to identify patterns, relationships, and problems
Communicate insights and findings:
• Prepare detailed reports for management and other departments
• Analyze and interpret data
• Communicate findings to OTS business partners and stakeholders
Collaborate and guide:
• Work with partner teams
• Guide proper development of data assets
• Supervise data entry when necessary
Ensure data quality and governance:
• Implement best practices for data management
• Contribute to data governance initiatives

About the team
DataTech is a centralized organization with OpsTech Solutions under the Fulfillment Technology & Robotics org.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
