Sr. Business Analyst
This program requires US Citizenship We are seeking a Sr. Business Analyst who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects for one of our clients, who is located in Seattle. The Business Analyst will fill a contract assignment for a senior-level business analyst with strong domain knowledge of utility real estate service management solutions, experience leading workshops, and skilled at engaging stakeholders. Location: This position is located in Seattle, WA. Candidates in the area are preferred, but not necessary. Occasional travel may be required if not local. **Responsibilities:** + Utilize business analysis industry standard best practices to deliver change for SCL by eliciting needs, documenting requirements, and recommending solutions that provide value to stakeholders + Conduct gap analysis workshops with the identified enterprise-wide key stakeholders to: + Understand and document the current solution context/persona, business processes, system context + Identify the primary business challenges/pain-points + Identify improvement opportunities through eliciting primary business challenges/pain-points vs. future business process improvement opportunities + Complete gap analysis current state business processes and future solutions + Responsible for Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring, Elicitation, Requirements Management and Communication, Enterprise Analysis, Requirement Analysis Solution Assessment & Validation + Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and ensure alignment of opportunities with the City Light Mission and Values + Work with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to attain alignment with the Utility Technology Roadmap for incremental business opportunities + Work with the Solution Architect for alignment of technology and functionality with the City Light Blueprint. + Provide recommendations for priorities, sequencing of opportunities + Engage and work closely with business customers at all levels from front-line to Executive leadership + Develop preliminary and detailed business requirements, use cases/user stories, software requirements, and process/workflow diagrams + Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources for project planning, requirements gathering, including interpreting high-level information; abstracting from low-level information to a general understanding; and evaluating user requests to perceive the underlying needs of the business + Communicate requirements and opportunities to all levels of the organization and to audiences of varying degrees of technical knowledge + Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the business processes and the associated IT systems as informed by business staff + Business analysis, including completion of deliverables following the City Light PMO by project phases **Required Business Analysis Skill Set** + In-depth utility real estate service management knowledge + Stakeholder List, Map or Personas + Interviews + Workshops + Benchmarking and Market Analysis + Vendor Assessment + Interface Analysis + Concept Modeling + Scope Modeling/Process Modeling + Functional Decomposition + Use Cases and Scenarios/Root Cause Analysis + User Stories + Business Rules Analysis + Data Mining/Data Modeling **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
