Sr. Business Analyst-Fund Accounting
Position Description:

Business analysis is the practice of enabling change in an enterprise by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. Business analysis enables an enterprise to articulate needs and the rationale for change, and to design and describe solutions that can deliver value.

Business analysis is performed on a variety of initiatives within an enterprise. Initiatives may be strategic, tactical, or operational. Business analysis may be performed within the boundaries of a project or throughout enterprise evolution and continuous improvement. It can be used to understand the current state, to define the future state, and to determine the activities required to move from the current to the future state.

A business analyst is a recognized practitioner in the analysis, definition and modelling of business processes, requirements, systems and data with stakeholder engagement in at least one methodology; for example, Agile or Waterfall.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) 1-2 times per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify stakeholder objectives and their business needs.
Investigates and agrees complex business and system functional and non-functional requirements.
Can lead a team to manage requirements of a complex project.
Can find and resolve inconsistencies.
Can run and improve a requirement management system.
Identify acceptance tests and scope.
Manage requests for the application of changes to baseline requirements.
Conduct advanced modelling activities.
Has an in-depth knowledge of organisation-standard techniques.
Plan own modelling activities
Obtain agreement with stakeholders on models, processes and requirements.
Lead small BA teams.
Define scope and business priorities, and could hold the vision for, change initiatives of medium size and complexity.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must Have: WEALTH MANAGEMENT / INVESTMENT BANKING EXPERIENCE
• 4+ years experience working in the securities industry and investment accounting.

Must Have: FUND ACCOUNTING KNOWLEDGE
• Daily life of a Fund Accountant including end of day NAV processing
• Securities trading including Equities, Bonds, MBS, ABS, STNs, Options, Futures, Forwards, Swaps and Derivatives
• Daily Income and valuation calculations for same security types
• Swaps including IRS, TRS, CDS and currency swaps.
• Other securities and derivatives such as: Repos, Swaptions, TIPS, Term Loans, Sinking Bonds, IO, PO
• Limited Partnerships
• Tax Administration and Fund Distributions
• Corporate Actions, Fees, General Ledger, Capital Stock, Multi-class funds

CERTIFICATIONS
• Must Have: Accounting certification (CFA or CA)
• IIBA CCBA Certification (Senior Consultant)
• IIBA CBAP Certification (Senior Consultant)
• IREB Foundation, IREB Advanced (Elicitation, Process Modelling, Requirement Management, Agile)
• BCS Diploma in Business Analysis (Senior Consultant)
• BCS Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis (Director)
• Canadian Securities course (CSC) or mutual funds course (IFIC)
