Sr. Business Development Manager, Distributors (1 Year Contract)

**Position summary:**
We are looking for an experienced Senior Key Accounts Manager to oversee relationships with major distribution partners. The successful candidate will drive growth by developing and executing strategic account plans, negotiating favorable terms, and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver excellent service. This role requires a deep understanding of distributor dynamics, supply chain management, and the ability to create solutions that enhance the value we deliver to our distribution partners.
**Responsibilities:**
Account Management:
+ Act as the main point of contact for assigned distributor accounts, building strong partnerships with key decision-makers.
+ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of each distributor’s business, including their goals, customer base, and market challenges.
+ Collaborate with distributor partners to develop programs that support product distribution, increase product penetration, and drive sales.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
+ Create and implement account-specific business plans that align with company objectives and drive growth across each distributor.
+ Identify new opportunities within each account, including product line expansions, seasonal promotions, and marketing initiatives to increase sales volume.
+ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective execution of these plans, with a focus on timely product delivery and consistent service quality.
+ Accurately forecasting sales volume & trade dollars.
+ Understand and execute marketing plan sales material.
+ Manage new product launches and expand distribution of ConAgra Brands products.
Contract Negotiation & Management:
+ Negotiate and manage contracts with distributors, ensuring compliance with terms and maintaining positive relationships.
+ Analyze account performance data to optimize profitability, ensure competitive pricing, and adjust terms when necessary.
+ Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for each account, closely monitoring sales, margin, and revenue targets.
+ Communicate changes to CAG policy, discontinued items, and recalls/product quality issues to customer.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
+ Work with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align distributor account activities with broader company initiatives.
+ Work with operations and logistics teams to address any supply chain issues or opportunities, ensuring smooth and efficient product flow to each distributor.
+ Coordinate with marketing teams on promotional activities, product launches, and marketing campaigns that enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
+ Monitor and analyze distributor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the foodservice distribution sector.
+ Use market insights and sales data to provide recommendations on product assortment, pricing strategies, and account-specific sales approaches.
+ Prepare regular performance reports and conduct quarterly business reviews to assess progress, identify challenges, and outline future plans.
Customer Training & Support:
+ Provide training and product support to distributor sales teams to ensure they have a thorough understanding of product features, benefits, and competitive positioning.
+ Address any distributor inquiries, concerns, or issues promptly, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and strong working relationships.
**Qualifications, Education & Experience:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
+ 5+ years of experience in account management or sales, preferably within the CPG industry or foodservice distribution industry.
+ Proven experience managing major distributor accounts such as Sysco, GFS, Colabor Group, or similar.
+ Knowledge of distribution networks, supply chain processes, and distributor business models.
+ Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into actionable plans.
+ Proficiency in Blacksmith, TMA, or other CRM tool and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
+ Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
+ Customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
+ Strategic thinking with a track record of driving growth and managing large accounts.
+ Detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving abilities.
+ Strong business and financial acumen: advanced business analytics skills, customer P & L agility, ability to plan, track and evaluate trade management
+ Ability to make recommendations for solutions based on information gathered and analyzed from the systems previously mentioned
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data entry
+ Ability to manage trade spending
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

**Compensation:**
Pay Range:$96,000-$143,000
_The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees._
