You Are:
This is a Senior Business Systems Analyst role at UST, working on a high-impact project for one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. In this position, you will interact with various business areas, including Front Office, Finance & Operations, Back Office, Static Data, and Risk Management, to develop and implement lasting and robust technology solutions, as well as support the existing application and surrounding framework.
The opportunity:
· Hybrid: In office/remote
· Work with technology partners (e.g., Software Engineers and Architects) to research and analyze current state system capabilities and define technology solution options and recommendations.
· Define, document, and translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, taking into account non-functional requirements.
· Assist testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
· Contribute to project management activities such as scoping and estimating project efforts, identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures, communicating activity status, as well as escalating and communicating possible issues.
· Participate in quality management reviews, including designs, prototypes, and other requirements work products.
· Work closely with stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and pinpoint how to manage integration.
· Provide operational and process-related analysis and support.
· Respect existing processes and standards, including requirements management and project management disciplines, technology delivery, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as needed.
· Gain knowledge in your area, stay abreast of technology trends and developments, and develop expertise in the client’s services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools, and techniques.
· Work with vendors to support business case development (consistent with technology requirements and guidelines), including benefits identification, RFI/RFP, and service level agreements.
· Coach new or less experienced colleagues and serve as a reference point throughout the requirements management lifecycle.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
· 5-7 years' experience in Capital Markets, with 3+ years of Calypso experience.
· Understanding of financial markets, especially Fixed Income products, Cash and Interest Rate Derivative products, and Credit Derivatives products.
· Good understanding of back-office processes, such as payment messages, static data, accounting, and trade lifecycle.
· Experience with trade capture and trade flow on platforms like Markitwire, Bloomberg, ION, etc.
· Basic understanding of SQL and UNIX.
· Commitment to applying advanced to expert knowledge of business technology delivery practices and standards, including design, development, testing, and project management.
· Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis processes and techniques, as well as system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules.
· Ability to work in a hybrid model.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $98,000-$120,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
