Job Description
We are supporting a European leader in engineering, design, and advisory services with a global reach. The firm focuses on creating sustainable solutions across various sectors, including infrastructure, industry, and energy. They have offices in Appleton, WI, and Birmingham, AL but need this person to work at their client site in Toledo, Ohio. The project involves completing 20-30 small to medium projects over the next 2-3 years, with 15-25% travel to other sites and offices.
ResponsibilitiesLead development of process design and P&ID drawings for major and minor detailed engineering projects.Create mass and energy balances for projects and studies.Analyze and define project scope, estimated cost, and technical aspects in accordance with client specifications.Perform field surveys in preparation for design.Travel to client facilities for project meetings and gathering of drawings and data.Prepare drawings, purchase specifications, schedules, operation manuals, and related construction details.Provide technical input and development of control system programming documentation.Prepare construction documents such as project scope of work documents and bidding documents.Support field installation, checkout, and start-up of mechanical equipment and piping systems.Troubleshoot process-related issues during startups or mill visits.Participate and lead client and project team meetings as required.Assist the Project Engineer in performing administrative tasks as required.Show leadership and quality judgment in job assignments.Understand the functionality of process control systems and the operation of process systems.Understand the role of other engineering disciplines in project development and design.Complete major project work successfully as the lead process engineer or area design lead on at least two projects.Assist with sales efforts such as proposal preparation and business development.Essential SkillsIn-depth knowledge and experience in chemical process industries such as battery materials production, metals and mining, specialty chemicals and chlor-alkali, food and beverage, etc.College degree from an accredited university in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or related discipline.10+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing related job.Understanding of the operation of computer software utilized for process design and P&ID development, such as Aspen, CADSIM, WinGEMS, Pipe-Flo, and Microsoft Excel.Good written and oral communication skills.Legal right to live and work in the United States.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of the design and operation of areas in pulp and paper such as chemical recovery processes, paper machines, and/or OCC plants.Professional engineer’s license in chemical engineering or related disciplines in one or more states (beneficial but not required).Cross-functional engineering knowledge.Work Environment
This candidate will be working at the customer site in Toledo, Ohio. There is flexibility to work from home but they will be needed on-site at least 75% of the time. There is potential for long-term employment in the Toledo area with enough business to support a new office. The consultant will report to the site managers as well as the process team.

The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $96.16
