Sr. Civil Estimator/Project Manager

Sr. Civil Estimator/Project Manager Details:

Direct Hire position$100,000.00 /annuallyFirst Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 03:00am)Assists with identifying potential projects for bidding and preparing pre-bid queriesConsult with legal, finance, equipment, procurement, construction foremen and vendors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issuesPrepare for heavy civil construction estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling workAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimatesConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesAssess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project developsPrepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractorsSet up cost monitoring and reporting systems and proceduresEstablish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiationsPrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractorsReview material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to complete internally or via a sub-contractorPrepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the projectVisit site and record information about access, drainage and topography, and availability of services such as water and electricityMaintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous mannerDevelop a cost-effective plan and schedule for project completion following a logical pattern for resource utilizationSelects and coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the projectReviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure all specs and regulations are followedResponsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licensesTracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion on time and within budget

Sr. Civil Estimator/Project Manager Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience required3+ years of estimating and supervising commercial/heavy civil/heavy highway/utility construction projects experience requiredUse of Bid2Win or similar cost estimating, scheduling and cost tracking software a plus
