You Are:

The Sr. Cloud/Infra Engineering Lead will lead the monitoring and notification processes, collaborating with ADM teams and CCOE teams to handle s and metrics on a case-by-case basis.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Lead the monitoring and notification processes, collaborating with ADM teams and CCOE teams to handle s and metrics on a case-by-case basis.

·       Coordinate monthly OS patch management activities, executing separate non-production and production maintenance cycles to ensure timely and secure patching.

·       Oversee automated backups through AWS Backup, ensuring adherence to retention policies agreed upon under ADM, Business, and FinOps considerations.

·       Manage restoration processes on an ad-hoc basis, ensuring timely and accurate recovery of data as needed.

·       Ensure compliance and logging are applied to all running instances, regardless of whether they are static or transient/scaling, to maintain security and regulatory requirements.

·       Identify opportunities to leverage AWS Cloud Native tools for operational tasks, minimizing costs while maximizing efficiency and reliability.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What you need:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

·       Extensive experience in cloud operations and maintenance, preferably in an AWS environment.

·       Strong understanding of monitoring, patch management, backup, and maintenance best practices in cloud environments.

·       Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure operations, preferably in AWS environment.

·       Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures using AWS IAM, AWS Security Hub, and other relevant tools.

·       Strong Skills on Linux/UNIX OS Systems and Experience with Shell/Perl/python scripting and other programming languages.

·       Proficiency in configuration management, monitoring, observability, and SEIM tools (e.g., Splunk).

·       Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) development and promoting self-serviceability.

·       Proficiency in CFT/CDK, especially with CFT/CDK Cloud for build operations, is required.

·       Experience with GitHub enterprise and GitHub cloud services.

·       Experience in Agile Project Management, DevOps, ITIL methodology

·       Experience with AWS services such as AWS Backup, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and associated tools for operational tasks.

·       Proficiency in scripting and automation to streamline operational processes and tasks.

·       Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and drive operational initiatives.

·       Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

·       Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are a plus.

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Illinois

Compensation Range:   $71,000-$107,000

 

Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
