The Sr. Community Relations and Education Coordinator will coordinate the educational programming provided by New Jersey Natural Gas ("NJNG") to a variety of stakeholders in and around NJNG's service territory. Ensures NJNG is providing access to educational content that aligns with NJNG's strategy and serves as a resource for schools, educational or environmental related non-profits and others in the community. Major Responsibilities: • Partners with the Director of Community Relations to identify and implement programs and initiatives that align with company efforts to promote and educate stakeholders on sustainability and environmental stewardship. • Periodically reviews all programming with a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs, interests and company priorities. • Oversees NJNG’s Project Venture program through coordination, content development and outreach aligned with stakeholder expectations and company priorities. • Oversees the Corporate Tour Program by arranging transportation, scheduling rooms, outside speakers, company presenters, department involvement, etc. • Leads the NJNG Education Committee which entails scheduling and running monthly meetings, taking minutes, performing necessary research, developing and implementing programs, etc. to ensure programs are worthwhile, timely and aligned with company priorities. • Oversees the Speakers’ Bureau Program and serves as an active member of the program by presenting to local community groups. Manages the current school assembly programs and looks for new program opportunities. Collaborates with Energy Assistance for special assistance related presentations, application assistance and other support as needed. • Oversees the Conserve to Preserve Energy Conservation and Champions of Sustainability Contests school districts throughout NJNG service area. • Coordinates the Monmouth, Ocean and Morris County Customer Forums, which entails arranging the various facilities, invitation lists, programs, speakers, and surveys. Includes energy assistance information and presentations in this program as well. • Recruits, trains and coordinates numerous company employees who participate in various programs as mentors, speakers, tour guides and other volunteer based educational programs throughout the year. • Assists with the production of communications that promote educational programs. • Develops and maintains relationships with key external stakeholders to promote education programs and solicits feedback on improvements as needed. Attends meetings and events that foster these relationships and further NJNG’s community impact as needed. Position Requirements: • Bachelors degree in Communications, Social Work, Marketing or related discipline. • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. • Ability to direct and efficiently organize program activities. • Requires attendance at meetings or events that take place after regular work hours and on weekends. * The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary.
