Sr. Construction Manager
The Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) business is critical to delivering on this mission and vision, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, which is growing rapidly in response to unprecedented demand for Microsoft services. CO+I operate one of the largest cloud networks on the planet – comprised of more than 160 Datacenters, 130+ edge sites, 2+ million miles of fiber, and millions of servers and network and storage devices. Microsoft’s Cloud Operations and Innovation Organization (CO+I) is seeking a **Sr. Construction Manager** for the New Technology Introduction team within the Office of the CTO (Chief Technology Officer). This position will manage dynamic facility operations in and Research & Development environment encompassing construction, facility readiness, general operations, and supporting test setup and execution of next generation data center technologies. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day. **Responsibilities** + Drive Safety performance to the highest standards during planning and execution. + Direct execution and planning of multiple, concurrent, construction projects. + Provide organizational rigor and discipline to frame project risk and manage the impacts of change. + Hold teams accountable for timely accomplishment of deliverables, provide guidance, ensure corrective actions are taken as necessary, monitor metrics, and report progress and risks. + Proactively monitor internal and external environments to anticipate opportunities to improve on safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance. + Assesses the construction industry and the broader business environment to account for market conditions to provide and evolve delivery mechanisms that are tuned to the prevailing industry conditions. + Communicate priorities and drive consistent best practice across construction sites. + Share best practices, assist others in learning role, process, procedures, and mentor others. + Promote a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of R&D facility activities. + Embody our culture and values **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience + OR equivalent experience. **Other Requirements:** + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Additional or Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience + OR equivalent experience. + 12+ years experience working on data center projects. + Experience with lab test equipment setups for signal measurement using oscilloscopes and the capability to read and interpret schematic diagrams. + Managed facility build out and/or upgrade construction projects. + Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills. + Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff. Ability to effectively influence cross-discipline teams. Construction Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
