Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to join our Custom Automation team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical controls engineering, particularly in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs. This role requires a strong background in designing control systems and working with various automation equipment and robotics.
ResponsibilitiesCreate electrical schematics using AutoCAD or other preferred software.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical controls and automation systems.Program and configure PLCs, particularly the Allen-Bradley family, using RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000 Logix.Troubleshoot and program HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs.Work with AC and DC drives and motor controllers.Select motors for precision and torque requirements.Control XY tables, linear actuators, indexing machines, and drives.Program robots, including Fanuc and Allen-Bradley models.Essential SkillsProficiency in creating electrical schematics with AutoCAD or similar software.Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.5+ years of experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs.Experience with RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000 Logix.Expertise in troubleshooting and programming HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs.Knowledge of AC and DC drives and motor controllers.Experience in motor selection for precision and torque.Familiarity with controlling XY tables, linear actuators, indexing machines, and drives.Robot programming experience, particularly with Fanuc and Allen-Bradley robots.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in engineering preferred.5+ years of industry-related experience (conveyors, robotics, actuators, etc.).Experience with explosion-proof and hazardous environment equipment.Knowledge of vision inspection systems and robotic work cells.Familiarity with robotic process automation and control system design.Work Environment
The work environment involves working with advanced automation technologies and equipment. You will be using software such as AutoCAD for designing electrical schematics. The role includes working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and various types of drives and motor controllers. You will also be programming and troubleshooting robots, including Fanuc and Allen-Bradley models. The position requires adherence to safety standards, especially when dealing with explosion-proof and hazardous environment equipment. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
