The Opportunity

This position works out of our Willis Tower, Chicago, IL location in the PA Public Affairs Division.

The Senior Copywriter is a newly established position that will be responsible for leading copy and creative development across global and divisional marketing. They will be instrumental in driving strategy, brainstorming, concepting, and campaign work. A successful candidate can inspire collaboration, great work, and help take the Abbott brand to the next level.

What You’ll Work On

Lead the ideation, development, and execution of strategic, insight-driven creative across a variety of touchpoints (social, digital, 360 campaign)Collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring marketing briefs to lifeConcept and collaborate with internal creatives to deliver best-in-class copy and workReview, enhance, and approve copy and concepts developed by other team membersManage and supervise multiple projects and teams (internal and external) from a copy perspectiveDevelop concepts and campaigns aligned with client briefsAid in content creation across multiple platforms including social

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field is required.More than 6 years of experience in marketing, with at least 4 years in a high-level communications environment within a corporate / team environment or marketing agency preferredAble to achieve results within a rapidly changing, fluid and highly matrixed environmentDeep understanding of the current consumer and media landscape globallyCandidates must have a track record of excellent professional writing, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projectsAbility to and experience in thinking ‘outside the box’ when it comes to strategic product communications and creativePositive, can-do attitude; ability and willingness to do what is needed to get a job done.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
