Sr. Corporate Tax Accountant
Job Title: Senior Tax AccountantJob Description The Senior Tax Accountant supports all aspects of the tax department functions, including preparation and review of tax returns, tax provision, indirect tax filings, and research tax laws and regulations. Responsibilities + Prepare and review workpapers for corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns. + Assist with the preparation and review of interim and year-end tax provision workpapers. + Review and facilitate the monthly sales and use tax returns filings with Avalara. + Prepare and review federal and state estimated income tax payments and tax return extensions. + Assist with responses to taxing authorities. + Develop inter-department relationships and interface with personnel to ensure that tax information acquired from other departments is accurate and timely. + Perform monthly tax account reconciliations and journal entries. + Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job. + Perform additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Corporate income tax experience + Public accounting experience + Income tax experience + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field + Experience with large companies, clients, and large sets of data + 2-3 years of experience as a Senior Tax Associate + Federal income tax experience + Sales tax and use tax experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and researching tax issues + Excellent analytical and organizational skills + Detail-oriented + Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills + Intermediate proficiency with Excel + Experience with SAP or large ERP system + CPA certification + Big 4 experience or experience with a large public company or large CPA firm Work Environment The position offers a hybrid work environment with 3 days onsite. The schedule is flexible, allowing the workday to start anywhere from 7 am to 9:30 am, as long as it is consistent.
