The Data and Analytics Engineering - Platform team is critical to keeping our organization's data strategy successful. You will play a key role in developing and managing modern, adaptive, data-driven, and secure platforms and processes to enable Data & Analytics Engineering, as well guaranteeing compliance with data security requirements. You should have strong fundamentals in Platform Administration for an Enterprise Data Lake/Warehouse (EDL/EDW), DevOps, Data/Software Engineering and/or Development, and Cybersecurity implementation and audit. In a modern data ecosystem, it is important to have hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Cloud Services, DevOps as well as a working understanding of the NIST cybersecurity framework.
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC) in the Enterprise Snowflake PlatformAs a thought leader in Data & Analytics Platforms, evaluate new technologies and features, design and implement them by partnering with architects and end usersDrive self service capabilities and ongoing automation initiativesDesign, implement, automate, and maintain Cybersecurity Audit reporting for user access, role permissions, system administration, and operational activities for Data & Analytics platformsPartner with Vendors, Customers, and Peer teams to implement intelligent, predictable, reliable, scalable, cost-efficient, and easy-to-use platforms and frameworks for Data Science Machine Learning (DSML), Master Data Management, Data EngineeringCollaborate with other data teams to proactively identify cost anomalies and savings opportunitiesEvaluate capacity requirements and automate necessary scaling within Azure environmentImplement Azure cloud capabilities including but not limited to Data Factories, Batch Accounts, storage, Key Vaults, Log Analytics, and automated deployments Implement, configure, monitor, and maintain cloud-based Data & Analytics platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake. Troubleshoot and resolve environment performance, connectivity, access, and security issuesSelf-directed and able to balance the priorities of multiple teams, systems, and products Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goalsStreamline development and operational processes via continuous integration, deployment, automated testing while leveraging Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principlesDrive efficient resolution for system outages as well as performance and functional shortcomings. Engage in critical support situations and effectively, efficiently, and quickly drive successful resolutionPurpose of the role
The platform engineer will be a key contributor in evaluating, designing and implementing advanced features along with ensuring reliability, scalability, security of Data & Analytics platforms.
Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
5+ years with Snowflake Platform engineering experience in an enterprise-level environment 3+ years experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI3+ years leading the end-to-end design and development of scalable services to be consumed by the enterprise, including monitoring and production support3+ years developing and maintaining NIST-aligned Cybersecurity audit functionalityAdvanced proficiency with Python, SQL, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Bicep templates, and PowerShell is required. 5+ years of DevOps experience with a clear understanding of related tools, structure, and processes working in an Agile/Scrum settingExperience in cloud cost-savings plans, reviews, and reserved instancesExperience in DevOps and SRE practices, testing frameworks, Infrastructure as Code, and building CI/CD pipelinesExcellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audience typesExperience on a fast-paced, highly collaborative agile team within a Product-oriented organizationEffective problem-solving, analytical thinking, and a cloud-native and security-first mind set Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to positively influence team norms, culture, and technical visionPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or equivalent area Experience with cloud services such as Snowflake, Databricks, Data Factory, Event Hub, Functions, Batch, Key Vault, and Log Analytics Strong experience with popular database programming languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, Stored ProceduresSnowflake SnowPro, Azure, Databricks certificationsFamiliarity with microservices software architecture and Machine Learning experience is preferred Working knowledge of ETL/ELT, CDC, Message-Oriented data movement, API design and stream data integration. Moderate experience with Big DataWork Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of one of the following locations and have a Hybrid work arrangement:
