Compensation: $125K - $150K + 10% Bonus
Overview:
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work with one of our top clients. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, reporting solutions, and analytics across the organization.
Working closely with IT, finance, and other business stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely insights that drive critical decision-making. You’ll also mentor a Reporting Analyst and ensure best practices in data acquisition, transformation, and visualization.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Acquisition & Integration Extract, transform, and integrate data from Infor Data Lake and third-party platforms, APIs, and cloud services. Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines into an on-premises data warehouse. Use Infor Data Fabric tools (e.g., Data Lake, Data Catalog) to ensure data integrity and efficiency. Follow cybersecurity best practices, including secure data transfers, encryption, and recovery processes. Stay updated on emerging data tools and technologies to improve data strategies. 2. Reporting & Visualization Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and Excel-based reports to meet business needs. Ensure reports are scalable, user-friendly, and provide key insights. 3. Financial & Operational Data Solutions Build out financial statements, cash flow reports, and accounting reports. Apply financial and accounting principles to design accurate data solutions. Expand operational reporting to support supply chain, inventory, and logistics decision-making. 4. Leadership & Training Supervise and mentor a Reporting Analyst, providing guidance on data processes and visualization. Train business users on how to interact with reports and dashboards effectively. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Experience: 5+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or analytics. Proven expertise in ETL/ELT process design for on-premise data warehouses. Strong background with Infor Data Fabric (Data Lake, Data Catalog). Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and cloud-based data solutions. Experience working across IT, finance, and operations teams. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of financial statements, accounting reports, and cash flow reporting. Proficiency in SQL Server & SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL workflows.
Hands-on experience with Infor Data Fabric (Data Lake, Data Catalog).
Strong expertise in Power BI & Excel for visualization and reporting.
Experience with on-premise data warehouse management & hybrid data solutions.
Ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language.
Preferred:
Background in import/distribution or retail industries.
Experience in data governance & master data management.
Certifications in data engineering, SQL Server, Power BI, or Infor-related technologies.
