You Are:

UST is searching for a Sr. Data Governance Specialist who will design and implement data governance policies, standards, and frameworks tailored to the telecom industry. 

 

The Opportunity:

·       Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units, data stewards, and IT to align governance practices with organizational goals. 

·       Data Quality Management: Define data quality metrics, implement monitoring mechanisms, and resolve data quality issues. 

·       Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with telecom-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards. 

·       Metadata Management: Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a metadata repository to enhance data discoverability and usability. 

·       Master Data Management (MDM): Drive MDM initiatives to ensure data consistency across enterprise systems. 

·       Generative AI & Analytics Enablement: Support initiatives leveraging generative AI and advanced analytics while ensuring governance policies are upheld. 

·       Data Lineage & Cataloging: Implement tools and processes to map and maintain data lineage and cataloging across systems. 

·       Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver data governance training programs for employees and stakeholders. 

·       Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on key data governance performance metrics to leadership. 

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What You Need:

·       8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields. 

·       Demonstrated experience within the telecom industry, understanding its unique data challenges and regulatory environment. 

·       Proficient in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica). 

·       Hands-on experience with data cataloging, data quality, and MDM tools. 

·       Understanding of telecom data domains, such as subscriber data, network data, and billing data. 

·       Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA (if applicable), and telecom-specific data regulations. 

·       Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts effectively. 

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 

·       Certification in data governance or related fields (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF). 

·       Familiarity with generative AI technologies and their governance implications. 

·       Experience implementing data governance programs at scale in a large organization. 

·       Knowledge of data security practices, including encryption and access controls. 

·       Experience with Agile project management methodologies. 

 

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Georgia

Compensation Range: $76,500-$112,500

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
