**About This Job**
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Senior Database Administrator. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
+ Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases
+ Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases
+ Reviews database design and integration of systems
+ Provides backup recover and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements
+ Monitors transition activity and utilization
+ Train other departments for overlap support and any cross-department end-user training
+ Perform root cause analysis and resolve faults and errors in applications
+ Develop recommendations for enhancing approaches for software support services
+ Develop security baselines and standards for AWS and on-premises resources, hardening and strengthening security to exceed the latest best practices
+ Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
+ Update works instruction documentation and standard operating procedures
+ Collaborate with vendors in the research, development, and implementation of various technologies
+ Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets including end-user support via phone, email, and remote control
+ Responsible for ensuring databases are compliant with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives and guidelines, including Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) bulletins
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing databases in a secure environment and will be responsible for maintaining database integrity, managing database access, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
**Required education:**
+ High School diploma and 12 years related IT experience, or
+ BA/BS degree with 10 years of related IT experience, or
+ MS degree with 8 years of related IT experience
The successful applicant will display the following characteristics:
+ Strong experience and proficiency in Database Administration, which includes Database Design, Configuration, Maintenance, Performance Tuning, Patching, and Upgrades
+ Strong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery practices
+ Experience with database management systems, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external resources necessary to successfully complete assignments or projects
+ Proactively manage and prioritize multiple related projects, assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications
+ Collaborating with vendors in the research, development, and implementation of server technologies

**Clearance Requirement**

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef and DevOps practices
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
+ Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts
+ Experience with supporting large-scale deployments as an administrator
+ Experience with technical project management
+ Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes
+ Working technical knowledge of network, storage, server, and database technologies
+ Proficient ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data
+ Knowledge of migrating and/or extending on-premises software to the cloud
+ Knowledge of AWS Cloud Platform (IaaS) is preferred
+ SQL (read/interpret tables and columns)
+ User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
+ Superb customer service skills
+ Fast, aggressive learner
+ AWS Cloud Certification is a preferred
+ Microsoft/Oracle Certifications preferred
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $115110 - $195660
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
