Sr. Demand Planner, Statistical Forecasting (Hybrid Role: Onsite & Virtual)

BASIC PURPOSE The role sits in the Demand Planning sub-team of the Replenishment Excellence team, which provides centralized support to the area buying teams. The statistical forecasting team is responsible for ensuring that a high-quality system forecast is generated with correctly established demand history and fined tuned parameters and models in the planning system (Blue Yonder Supply Chain Planning & Optimization (SCPO)). This team also enables high reliance, trust and adoption of SCPO generated forecasts within the company. The Senior Demand Planner role is assigned to a specific segment of the business (e.g., category, geographical, or customer concepts) and responsible for statistical forecasting for their assigned segment - including history review, best fit model selection, seasonality profile optimization - and generating a high-quality system forecast with minimal need for manual interventions. The Senior Demand Planner will serve as a functional expert in Demand Planning. They will develop and support best practices in process and system utilization to drive improvements in Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Service Levels, and Inventory Management. They will support process development, team training, and team accountability. **Flexible Work Policy: The Sr. Demand Planner, Statistical Forecasting position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite (2 days per month) and virtual. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.** **ESSENTIAL D RESPONSIBILITIES** **Planning Support** • Responsible for application of higher-level Demand Planning functions such as forecasting model selection, seasonality, and demand cleansing routines • History transfers for new item setup: Ensure new items have their demand histories accurately identified, tagged and transferred during item transitions • Exception Management: Review and adjust statistical forecast parameters as needed at the direction of system-generated exceptions • Supports development of demand forecasts in support of long-range strategic planning through internal and external collaboration • Execute routine and ad hoc demand planning management activities to support team performance, maximize planning system utilization, and drive positive business impact • Deliver against performance targets (Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Service, DIOH and Spoilage) and identify methods to improve planning behaviors that adversely impact these measures Training and Coaching • Develop and Implement team training in support of New Hires, Process Changes, and System Updates • Serves as first point of escalation for Demand Team in support of process support or problem solving; coach team on consistent approach to demand issues **Process/ System Support** • Supports and develops Best Practices and system utilization through process ownership, training, monitoring, and coaching • Serve as Demand Planning SME in support of projects to improve performance, productivity, and standardization across the Demand Planning team • Supports Change Management through collaboration, training, communication of benefits and reinforcement of long-term impacts • Identify performance gaps in Demand Planning process and tools • Support roadmap deliverables to increase maturity of the Demand Planning function in concert with replenishment team leadership and key stakeholders • Other duties as assigned by manager **SUPERVISION:** • Indirect support of Demand Planners **RELATIONSHIPS** • Internal: Replenishment Excellence Leadership, National Accounts, Merchandising, Supply Chain IT, Area Leadership/Finance • External: N/A **WORK ENVIRONMENT** • Inside office: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities in a US Foods office-based environment. • Hybrid: This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** • 4 years of progressive work experience in demand planning, replenishment, inventory management, or related field, with minimum of 2 years in statistical forecasting • Supply Chain experience and knowledge of business planning processes • Experience with Microsoft Office products, advanced Microsoft Excel • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail • Strong financial acumen required (must be able to interpret sales data within the market) **EDUCATION** • Four-year college degree in business, operations, supply chain management or equivalent military or business experience required **CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING** • Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) or Certified Supply Chain Professional) CSCP preferred **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Advanced Planning Systems and Tools (Blue Yonder/ Logility/ SAP) that enable Demand Planning and Reporting (Tableau, WEBI) is highly preferred • Prior foodservice or demand management experience preferred **Universal pay verbiage** **:** Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $65,000-$100,000.
