Job Description

Senior Director Corporate Strategy – MMS

Location: Richmond, VA

Current Need:

The McKesson Corporate Strategy and Business Development organization is seeking to add a Senior Director to its existing team, which is responsible for planning, delivering, and implementing high-priority strategic projects that advance the organization’s competitive position. In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support the MMS business unit in pulling through the enterprise’s broad strategy into the business unit’s reality. Our team conducts projects related to evaluating and incubating new growth opportunities and solutions, partnering with external stakeholders, and optimizing and growing our existing businesses. This role’s leadership will advance McKesson’s objective to achieve better business health for our customers and better care for all.

Position Description 

Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives, identify strategic needs and prioritize areas of focusDefines and manages multiple strategic projects towards deliverables, including incubation and implementation, and timelinesEnsures frameworks incorporate broader strategic considerationsManages expectations and results for leadership teams, and BU stakeholders as appropriateActs as thought-leader and lead advisorLeverages presentations to develop the storyline and connectivity to other projectsBuilds advanced knowledge of business’ customers, products and industryMakes project-specific resource allocation decisionsCapacity to manage 1-5 direct reports

Minimum Requirements

8+ years strategy or consulting experience, or relevant industry experience (e.g., finance, strategic marketing, clinical operations). Healthcare industry experience is a plus, but not required.

Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunitiesAnalytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendationsFinancial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder valueCommunications skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasivelyHealthcare Knowledge: knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare

Education

 4-year bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience MBA preferred

Travel

Approximately 20% travel

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$167,300 - $278,800
