YOUR IMPACT
Sr. Director, Enterprise Architecture and Engineering Modernization role requires a deep understanding of modern architecture frameworks, cutting-edge technology solutions, and the ability to oversee large-scale projects that align with the organizations long-term strategies and business goals. Core responsibilities include leading the modernization of our IT systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives, improving the scalability, security, and efficiency of our infrastructure, and guiding engineering teams in delivering high-impact products and services.

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
•    Lead and execute OpenText’s IT domain modernization strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market needs.
•    Identify and assess opportunities to modernize legacy technologies, systems, and processes to improve agility, scalability, and performance.
•    Champion the adoption of cloud technologies, microservice/microapplication architectures, and other advanced solutions to optimize business processes.
•    Led development of architecture playbook for M&A activities, establishing standardized approaches for technical assessment, modernization planning, and integration of acquired technology stacks.
•    Guide commercial and corporate engineering organizations, providing vision, direction, and guidance to teams responsible for the design, development, and deployment of technology solutions.
•    Promote best practices in software engineering, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), automated testing, and agile methodologies.
•    Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Marketing, etc.) to understand domain-specific requirements and translate them into actionable engineering solutions.
•    Ensure seamless collaboration between technology teams and business leaders to ensure domain transformation initiatives support overall company strategy.
•    Stay current with emerging trends in technology and engineering, advising the executive leadership on how to leverage new technologies for competitive advantage.
•   Spearheaded initiatives to integrate AI, machine learning, IoT, and other cutting-edge technologies into existing business functions and establish governance frameworks for the engineering domain to ensure compliance, security, and risk management best practices are followed.
•    Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency by modernizing systems and improving development processes.
•    Develop and manage the budget for domain modernization initiatives, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in Architecture and Engineering, with at least 7 years in a senior management role.
•    Proven experience in modernizing legacy systems and transforming technology infrastructures in large-scale organizations.
•    Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, DevOps, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and Enterprise and Solution Architecture.
•    Expertise in domain modernization, systems engineering, and software development lifecycles.
•    Proven track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional teams to deliver complex technology solutions.
•    Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
•    Deep understanding of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics.
•    Visionary and strategic thinker with the ability to drive long-term change.
•    High emotional intelligence with a focus on fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
