GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Director of National Accounts is a strategic leadership role within the ophthalmic instruments division, responsible for managing & expanding relationships with key national accounts. This individual will oversee a team of national accounts employees, guiding them to drive revenue growth, develop long-term partnerships, & ensure the organization’s products & services meet the evolving needs of national clients. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, & customer service, to align strategies & deliver exceptional value to clients.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, manage, & mentor a team of national accounts employees, ensuring they are equipped to effectively manage their respective accounts. Foster a collaborative & high-performance culture within the national accounts team, encouraging innovation & excellence. Oversee the organization’s national accounts, ensuring strong, long-term relationships with key clients. Serve as the primary point of contact for the most strategic accounts, while guiding team members in managing their accounts effectively. Develop & implement strategic account plans that drive revenue growth, enhance customer satisfaction, & foster partnership loyalty. Negotiate contracts & agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms that support the organization’s goals. Develop & execute strategies to increase sales & market share within national accounts, in alignment with the organization’s overall sales objectives. Identify & pursue new business opportunities within existing national accounts, as well as potential new accounts. Collaborate with the sales team to develop & implement targeted sales initiatives that address the specific needs of national clients. Provide feedback to internal teams on product performance, customer preferences, & market trends, helping to shape future product development & marketing strategies. Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, & sales growth within national accounts. Ensure that national accounts receive exceptional service & support, addressing any issues or concerns promptly & effectively Develop & implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction & retention within national accounts Conduct regular business reviews with national accounts, providing insights on performance, discussing future needs, & identifying opportunities for further collaboration Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, & emerging technologies in the ophthalmic instruments sector Utilize market intelligence to identify new opportunities & risks, adjusting account strategies accordingly

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Operations, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) 8+ years of experience in sales with at least 5 years in a leadership/people management role Proven track record of managing diverse teams & improving operational efficiency Ability to drive change & lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple functions Experience in budget management & financial analysis within a sales support context Familiarity with the sales process & experience working in a sales-driven organization is a plus Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service Strategic thinker with the ability to execute complex operational plans Adaptable & able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
