ADP is hiring a Sr. Director, Operations - Smart Compliance Solutions (SCS)
The Senior Director, Operations will play a pivotal role in driving seamless software delivery, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and continuously improving processes to support the Smart Compliance Solutions (SCS) portfolio. The role is a strategic leadership role to support the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions across the Tax Compliance applications portfolio. This role will foster a culture of excellence, promote best practices, and ensure alignment between our software development efforts and the SCS business objectives. The role demands a strategic mindset, strong leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of software development best practices and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance and Standards:
Establish and maintain software development governance frameworks, processes, and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and value-based development across all initiatives. Collaborate with SCS development teams, product managers, UX, Business owners, and GPT stakeholders to promote sound engineering disciplines, architectural principles, and outcome-based delivery methods.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Alignment:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the management of strategic initiatives within the software development team. Act as a bridge between development teams, product management, user experience (UX), business stakeholders, and external partners. Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and alignment among diverse teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination of efforts. Foster and promote a culture of transparency, trust, and accountability across all groups.
Change Management and Continuous Improvement:
Drive the adoption of value-driven and outcome-based processes, and methodologies to enhance software delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Lead change management initiatives, getting buy-in and ensuring smooth transitions to new practices or tools. Continuously assess and optimize software delivery flows, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing data-driven and value-based solutions. Lead and mentor cross functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Portfolio Management and Strategic Planning:
Provide strategic oversight and guidance for the software delivery portfolio, ensuring alignment with SCS BU’s goals and priorities. Collaborate with development leaders, product managers, and business stakeholders to prioritize and plan software initiatives based on business value, risk, and resource constraints. Manage dependencies and resource allocations across initiatives, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
Talent Development and Continuous Learning:
Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Identify and facilitate training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill and cross-train staff on new technologies, processes, and industry best practices. Foster an environment that encourages inclusivity, innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence in software engineering.
Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution:
Address and resolve conflicts within the team and with external partners. Utilize strong interpersonal skills to mediate and find mutually beneficial solutions

Qualifications:
7+ years experience in Project/Program Management. Proven experience in strategic management, particularly in software development or a related field. Strong background in change management and workflow optimization. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations and people effectively. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategies and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with Confluence, Jira, MS Excel. Prior leadership experience preferred.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions.
