**Senior Director, Pharmacy Practice Position Summary:**
The Senior Director, Pharmacy Practice is responsible for leading and optimizing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing workflow systems, and driving pharmacy performance metrics. This role will oversee pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs), compliance readiness, and business continuity best practices while also spearheading environmental health & safety (EHS) initiatives across the organization. Additionally, this position will provide strategic oversight of system workflows, centralized call center services, clinical patient management, and pharmacy training programs to support pharmacy excellence.
This leader will manage a team of Directors, Operations Managers, Business Process Analysts, EHS professionals, and pharmacy training and call center teams, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and compliance within the pharmacy organization.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Pharmacy Performance, Management, and Readiness**
+ Develop, implement, and maintain Pharmacy SOPs to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
+ Act as the primary compliance liaison, supporting audit readiness and regulatory adherence.
+ Oversee business continuity best practices, ensuring operational resilience in pharmacy services.
+ Establish and monitor key pharmacy performance metrics and measures to drive continuous improvement.
**Pharmacy Curriculum and Training**
+ Oversee the development and execution of pharmacy training programs to enhance staff competency and regulatory compliance.
+ Ensure continuous improvement and alignment of pharmacy curriculum with industry best practices.
+ Lead onboarding programs for new employees and continuing education for current pharmacy staff.
**Centralized Call Center & Patient Support Services**
+ Oversee the implementation and optimization of digital patient engagement journeys to improve pharmacy accessibility.
+ Manage refill management processes to enhance medication adherence and patient satisfaction.
+ Supervise prior authorization processing and appeals to ensure timely and efficient prescription fulfillment.
+ Lead financial assistance coordination (PAP) to support patient access to medications.
+ Develop and refine clinical patient management strategies, integrating data-driven insights for enhanced patient care.
**Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Program Implementation**
+ Develop and establish a comprehensive EHS program across the pharmacy organization.
+ Oversee EHS compliance audits and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
+ Implement EHS alert/incident management processes for safety reporting and response.
+ Design and lead an EHS training program for employees to promote a culture of safety.
+ Develop Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction targets and sustainability initiatives.
**Pharmacy Workflow & System Optimization**
+ Manage system issues related to pharmacy workflow and operational efficiencies.
+ Lead workflow and process enhancements to optimize pharmacy technology and automation.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve pharmacy systems and operational integration.
**New Pharmacy Implementations & Expansion**
+ Lead new pharmacy implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration and regulatory compliance.
+ Support operational planning for expanding pharmacy services and workforce development.
**Leadership and Team Oversight**
+ Lead and mentor a team, including:
+ Director, Pharmacy Process
+ Director, Centralized Call Center Services
+ Senior Manager, Pharmacy Training
+ Senior Manager, EHS Management
**Qualifications & Experience:**
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred; MBA or Master’s in Healthcare Administration a plus.
+ 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and performance management.
+ Extensive knowledge of pharmacy regulations, audit processes, training programs, and patient support services.
+ Experience in EHS program development and compliance implementation preferred.
+ Strong analytical skills with expertise in pharmacy metrics, workflow analytics, and system optimization.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and drive operational excellence.
+ Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
