This position reports into the VP, Americas Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory. This individual will lead the implementation of the Quality Management Systems across multiple production sites in North America. The individual needs to be a dynamic change agent and visible leader to drive a high culture of quality. They must be well versed in Food Safety and Quality Systems. The individual will ensure that our products, facilities, processes and systems meet the required Company and legislative quality standards. The individual will provide short and long-term strategies that prepare the Barry Callebaut sites for new customer expectations and regulatory changes. The individual working with the leadership team will ensure a robust pipeline of talent to develop and place in assignments across the region. Finally, the individual is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and customers in the region and globally. Partnership with Supply Chain is critical to ensure quality execution at the plant level.  
 

Key responsibilities include: 


●    Change agent to drive a strong culture of quality at the corporate and plant level through partnerships with key stakeholder groups including supply chain, sales, R&D and marketing
●    Create an environment to continuously develop the people across the organization by upgrading competencies and skills.  Coach employees.
●    In conjunction with VP, Americas Quality advance the quality strategy. Provide aspirational functional 
●    Direct oversight of six internal Barry Callebaut manufacturing facilities located in North America. Provide support and guidance to ensure implementation, development, and consistency of best practices. Ensure facilities are in compliance with company, customer and regulatory standards and are prepared for internal and external audits. Ensure the implementation of corrective action associated with gaps are completed.
●    Leadership role in risk assessment activity to identify areas of improvement across the supply chain and proactively develop plans to mitigate risks.
●    Continually improve performance against key quality metrics such as customer complaints, quality related costs, audit outcomes by proactively leading initiatives.
●    Lead and coordinate food safety or quality incidents with the internal stakeholders and customers.
●    Participate in internal, supplier & co-manufacturer audits when needed
●    Continuously improve quality related knowledge, skills and understanding by conducting training programs and disseminating information covering standards, procedures and policies to assure employees are equipped to meet required standards.  
●    Develop strong working relationship with Barry Callebaut Americas Region senior leadership and Global  QA
●    Manage QA budget

 

About you:


●    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science
●    At least 15 years of experience in Quality and Food Safety
●    Knowledge of Quality systems and policies, HACCP,  Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) food safety standards
●    FDA Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) 
●    Practical experience in Food and or Beverage, preferably Chocolate 
●    Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams
●    Strong written and verbal communication skills
●    Ability to drive projects to completion
●    Approximately 50% travel
