Sr. Director, Remarketing

The Sr. Director, Remarketing, will lead the strategic planning, organization, and management of Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales across multiple locations, driving growth and operational success throughout North America. This role is responsible for meeting targets related to volume, quality, timeliness, customer satisfaction, profitability, market share, and brand identity.

The Sr. Director will develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures that promote total customer satisfaction, drive company profitability, and expand market share.

 Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategic business plans for establishing and growing the Remarketing business. Secure necessary resources (e.g., funding, staffing) to implement business plans. Lead the development of remarketing initiatives, including product development, operations, and sales. Define a clear path to profitability based on an approved strategic plan. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in IT, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, and external partners to build consensus and drive strategic initiatives. Oversee trade-in, reconditioning, retail sales, auction operations, and profitability. Utilize market intelligence to support inventory management, used vehicle sales, and residual value management. Develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor remarketing business performance. Partner with departments such as Service, Delivery, Logistics, Retail Development, and Finance to analyze and improve operations for Remarketing. Ensure optimal inventory mix and market-competitive pricing. Manage vehicle operations across multiple locations, including corporate, technical centers, distribution centers, and retail locations. Work with internal Service teams and external agencies to manage vehicle reconditioning. Establish and maintain high reconditioning standards that minimize returns. Ensure cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning aligns with cost and time constraints.

 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in used vehicle and remarketing operations.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

Proven leadership in automotive used / pre-owned, reconditioning and/or service spaces. Experience scaling operations from startup to maturity. Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence and strategic development. Strong capabilities in talent attraction, development, and retention. Problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent executive communication skills. Financial acumen with strategic planning experience.
