Overview The Director of Corporate Stewardship and Employee Safety is responsible for managing all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within the T. Marzetti Supply Chain function, as well as driving corporate strategy surrounding related actions, policy or behavior changes for corporate stewardship. This role requires a highly organized leader, strong communicator, and influencer. The Director of Corporate Stewardship and Employee Safety will contribute significantly to key business decisions, including the overall strategic direction of the organization. This role requires “thought leadership” regarding technical and business issues in the areas of corporate stewardship and employee safety. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Lead, develop and inspire the supply chain toward a safe, ethical, and responsible work environment consistent with being “The Better Food Company.” Develop intelligent and sustainable strategies, policies, plans, standards, and objectives in alignment with company goals, to reduce risk, maintain compliance, increase safety and deliver efficiencies. Ensure regular and ongoing hazard identification and abatement in the company’s facilities. Drive effective incident investigations. Review and approve final investigation reports. Disseminate lessons learned. Provide cross functional support on all security management issues and initiatives throughout the supply chain network. Represent the company’s interests in compliance enforcement actions and civil litigation. Identify and report metrics that drive the correct behaviors at all levels of the organization. Compile and submit information for all required department/corporate monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Provide counsel to leadership responsible for safety and environmental protection on a local level, including programs tailored to local needs. Ensure all environmental, health, safety, and security requirements are met and are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Remain up to date with news, industry trends, and regulations in areas of expertise and guide the organization to adjust accordingly. Benchmark performance against peers. Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership. Work with engineering, maintenance, and plant management on facility safety, environmental and security improvements. Provide construction project support as a subject-matter expert during design, construction, and post-construction activities. Identify and help facilitate the execution of carbon reduction, pollution prevention, and waste reduction initiatives. Assess, establish, and execute relevant training. Travel as required. Supervisory Responsibility 2-5 employees Bi-Weekly One: One’s Immediate feedback on performance Approval of paid time off Year-end performance reviews Accessible for emergency response situations, 24/7/365 Qualifications BS/BA degree in science, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental management, or related field. 15 years of progressive experience in safety/health administration, environmental management, worker compensation administration, consulting, or technical services. Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations. Strong track record of regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to operationalize improvements and drive innovation in areas of expertise. Strong people and communication skills. Adult training experience desired. Certifications desired: Certified Safety Professional, Registered Environmental Manager
