Job Summary The Sr. Director of Dining Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of food service for Windermere Prep School in Windermere, FL within a larger portfolio of education contracts. This role requires an experienced leader to manage both the team and client relationships, ensure profitability, and foster the growth of the dining services department. The position requires flexibility in hours to meet the needs of the organization. Key Responsibilities: + Lead and manage the dining services department across multiple units, ensuring all operations align with the approved budget and provide maximum value for resources spent. + Ensure the food offerings meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and nutritional value. + Direct and implement safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs in compliance with regulatory standards. + Maintain excellent relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other community members, promoting a positive dining experience. + Lead a team of salaried and hourly associates. + Promote professional growth and provide training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. + Foster strong inter-departmental relations and ensure the dining services department is integrated into the broader operations of the school and community. + Oversee P&L management and maintain profitability while ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality service. + Manage multiple units within the larger contract portfolio, ensuring operational consistency and effectiveness across all locations. + Stay up-to-date with the latest food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, presentation, and cost controls. Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. + Minimum of 3-4 years of direct food service operational management experience as Director or General Manager. + Multi-unit experience required. + Experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control. + Strong knowledge of P&L accountability and experience managing financial operations within a multi-unit or contract-managed service environment. + Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to manage client relationships, internal teams, and stakeholders. + ServSafe® certified (preferred). + Strong understanding of food trends, quality control, sanitation, food cost management, and presentation. + Must be adaptable to a changing schedule and available outside of traditional business hours as needed. + Education Experience: Previous education environment experience is preferred, but not required.
