UH 1 is UH’s beautiful specialty outpatient clinics and day-surgery center and UH 2 is the location for all of our primary care and women’s care clinics. **UH Lakewood Medical Center** is located between Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, Missouri, offering residents of Eastern Jackson County access to a modern community hospital with a continuum of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of families. UH Lakewood specializes in high-risk maternal and child care, and serves as one of the few Kansas City metro area institutions accredited by The Joint Commission in Orthopedics and Palliative Care. It also is home to a 188-bed, fully accredited long-term care center. **UH Behavioral Health** is the KC metro area’s largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. The **Crossroads Building** , located in Kansas City’s vibrant Crossroads Arts District, is its epicenter, providing a broad list of outpatient services. We also offer psychiatric inpatient care, and we deliver therapeutic services through our community outreach clinics. We are a leader in the Trauma-Informed Care Movement, and provide training, coaching and consulting to outside organizations. **Job Description** The Senior Director is responsible for ambulatory women’s health services in the Hospital Hill Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, Specialty Clinics, Perinatal Ultrasound at Hospital Hill, University Health Obstetrics and Gynecology, and for University Health Women’s Care, an off-site comprehensive women’s clinic. The Senior Director oversees administrative, fiscal and clinical operations; ensures program quality, customer and physician satisfaction; directs program marketing and business development, community outreach, fund raising and financial/strategic planning. In conjunction with the Chairperson of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Section Chiefs, manages the Ambulatory Practices, evaluating and implementing opportunities for growth and community connections. The senior director will work closely with physician groups and clinics leaders, as well as staff from ancillary support departments, primary care and other medicine and surgical specialties, emergency department services, facility-based ancillary services, regional business development, marketing services, and information technology. The senior director will be involved with the community maternal child healthcare coalition and other entities. The Senior Director will participate in continuous improvement in the clinical areas and within the organization, focused on strategies to improve the patient experience and access for the consumers. The director will lead initiatives and committees driving these initiatives. The senior director will perform other duties as assigned. **Minimum Requirements:** + a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or a graduate degree in Nursing or related health care field. + Current RN License and must remain active + 5+ years' experience at a manager or director level; Practical experience with budgeting, strategic planning, marketing plan development and implementation as well as fundraising. + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. + Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as managed care contracts, business and marketing plans, financial documents, safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. + Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and interpret statistical data. + Must be proficient in the English language. + Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, on the telephone, one-on-one, and large or small groups (committees, meetings, etc.). + Must be able to interact with others in a positive, effective, courteous and professional manner. + Must demonstrate good leadership and supervision skills. + Must have the ability to work under pressure and stay calm in all circumstances. Must be consistent in following policies and procedures. + Must be able to handle difficult situations and frequent interruptions. + Multi-tasking and good organization skills are required. + Must be able to reach, twist, bend, sit or walk for long periods, push pull, crouch, stoop, stand, climb, balance, kneel, grasp, perform fine hand coordination and digital dexterity, and lift at least 10 pounds repetitively to move/transport equipment and supplies. + Must have the ability to prioritize and make decisions quickly. + Must be able to grasp and analyze situations quickly and make appropriate decisions. + Must be detailed oriented, analytical, extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task. + Must be able to speak effectively before large or small groups of employees, administration, patients and other internal or external entities. + Must be able to distinguish colors in computer programs, hear sufficiently for general conversations in person and on the telephone. + Must be able to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read medical records, computer screens, and other written documents necessary to the position. + Hazardous materials pertinent to this position are described in the department’s Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) manual. May also include but not be limited to moving equipment, wet or slippery surfaces, airborne pathogens, latex products, electrical equipment, normal office products (e.g. correction fluid and copier toner), and repetitive motion in use of computer/keyboard. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s degree preferred + Experience in Women’s Health Care within a hospital, ambulatory or community health center. **Working at University Health is about making a difference.
