About the job   

The Education Practice is looking for a Sr. Business Development Specialist who will bring industry knowledge to support pre/post-sales for large SLDS, Accountability, EVAAS, and Dashboard projects. The goal is to create new business revenue opportunities in the K-12 education market. The Team is comprised of both K12 and Higher Education business development specialists with a deep understanding of their Industries and a passion to help state and local education agencies solve complex, big-data analytics problems.

 

As a Sr. Education Business Development Specialist, you will:   

Develop business opportunities with customer stakeholders across the K-12 sector (Federal, State and Local Education Agencies) and with key education partners.Support Account Executives to ensure implementation success, smart design, and timely execution of all new K12 PSD solutions and the EVAAS solution.Become EVASS certified and deliver compelling presentation to customers, policymakers, state boards of education, and other stakeholders.Identify opportunities for business expansion and develop and manage relationships in strategic markets and accounts that further business development activity.Develop strategic direction from market information and create compelling proposals that effectively differentiate SAS from our competitors.Prepare and deliver demonstrations and presentation to customers at varying levels of influence to include the highest levels of government and education administration.Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.Cybersecurity verbiage should be included in this section if indicated on the role’s GCF Job Description under “Security” it will also be found on the integrated iCIMS template if required -- Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals. 

Required Qualifications 

At least eight years of related experience in a teaching, education administration, policy, or research roleExperience working with State or Local Education Agencies and prefer experience with state policy-makersBachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Education, Education Administration, or Education PolicyAbility to travel up to 50% to 60% of time as business needs requireStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsPublic speaking experienceAbility to work effectively in teamsYou’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable.
